Autism caregiver support

You've been holding
so much
for so long.

Compass wraps around the parents, siblings, and caregivers of autistic individuals โ€” offering respite coordination, behavioral strategy, and the quiet permission to exhale.

A moment for you

How are you doing today?

Not your child. Not your family. You.

This takes 30 seconds. The resources last.

1
First contact

You reach out. That's the hardest part.

When you contact Compass, the first thing we ask isn't about your child's diagnosis or support needs. We ask how you're doing. A real person โ€” not a form, not a chatbot โ€” reads your message within 24 hours and writes back.

Free tip

Before you reach out, know this:

You do not need to have a clear ask. You do not need to know what kind of support you need. "I'm not sure where to start" is a complete sentence here.

โ€œI had written and deleted the email four times. When they wrote back and just said 'thank you for reaching out โ€” how are you sleeping?' I cried. Someone was asking about me.โ€

Renata M.

Mother of a 9-year-old, diagnosed at 4

2
Needs assessment

A conversation, not a questionnaire.

Your intake is a 30-minute phone call with a Compass navigator. We listen for what you're carrying โ€” respite gaps, IEP confusion, behavioral crises, caregiver burnout โ€” and build a picture of what support would actually look like for your family.

Free tip

What to bring to your intake call:

Nothing. The call is for you to talk and us to listen. If you want to bring notes, bring them. If you want to sit in your car in a parking lot because it's the only quiet space you have โ€” that works too.

โ€œI expected a checklist. Instead she asked me when I last had an uninterrupted meal. I didn't have an answer. That told both of us everything.โ€

DK

David K.

Father and primary caregiver, twins aged 14

A reminder, for you

You are not just a caregiver. You are a person who deserves support, rest, and a team that knows your name. Compass is that team.

3
Specialist introduction

Someone who speaks your exact situation.

Based on your intake, we match you with a specialist โ€” a behavioral consultant, a respite coordinator, or a family therapist with autism expertise. We explain why we chose them. You meet them before committing to anything.

โ€œShe had worked with three families in our county with the same school district. She knew the IEP coordinator by name. I didn't have to explain the context from scratch.โ€

Grandmother and legal guardian, supporting her 7-year-old grandson

4
First session

Practical from the first hour.

Your first session produces something you can use this week. Not a framework. Not a philosophy. A specific script for the next school meeting, a sensory adjustment for the kitchen, a 20-minute respite window that fits your actual schedule.

โ€œWe left with a card in my wallet that said exactly what to do when he starts spinning at the grocery store. I'd been winging it for three years. One hour changed that.โ€

5
Ongoing adjustment

Support that adapts as your child grows.

Autism support isn't a one-time fix. Compass checks in every 60 days to ask what's shifted โ€” new school year, new behaviors, new caregiver needs. Your support plan adjusts. You don't start over.

โ€œMy daughter turned 13 and everything changed overnight. Compass didn't make me re-explain her history. They already knew. We just talked about what was new.โ€
